At the Crisis Intervention Team, we equip first responders, law enforcement, and community stakeholders with the tools, training, and support they need to respond effectively to mental health crises.

This page highlights upcoming first responders training in St. Joseph County, practical tools, and answers to common questions to strengthen community partnerships and improve outcomes for individuals experiencing behavioral health issues, such as substance use, opioid addiction, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and suicide.

988 – Call, text or chat for 24/7 mental health and substance use support

574-533-1234, Option 1 – Call Oaklawn 24/7 to speak to a local trained professional who can connect you to the appropriate level of mental health or substance use care.

Oaklawn Walk-in Crisis Center – 420 N. Niles Ave, Suite 100 – Open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. Appropriate for mental health or substance use crises.

If there is immediate danger of harm to life or property, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if it is safe to do so.
